Tour in Europe

Users in five European countries will have the chance to learn first-hand what new with Windows 7, Office 2010 and Windows Server 2008 R2 straight from the software giant, but also to get their deployments going.

Free copies of Windows 7 and Office 2010 will of course be offered as incentives to participants, noted Microsoft’s Stephen L Rose.

“The first 150 registered attendees who attend each event will receive a certificate to download a free RTM copy of Microsoft Office 2010 Professional. (The certificate will given out at the end of each days event),” Rose explained.

But there will be additional goodies from the Redmond company, this time around not only for a limited number of attendees.

All participants will be able to walk away with a 16GB USB key that features a copy of Microsoft’s Proof Of Concept kit for the technologies enumerated above.

“The PoC is a virtual hard disk that can be installed to a server for the deployment., It is a set up and ready to go environment with trial versions of Windows 7 Enterprise, Server 2008, Office 2010 and all the tools like MAP, MDT, ACT, OEAT that you will need to test your applications in a live environment as well as a great sandbox to test your pilot and deploy strategies,” Rose added.

Of course, on top of getting free stuff from Microsoft, participants to the European Springboard Series Tour will have the chance to attend five-hour free Tour Workshops.

The Springboard Series Tour will kick off in Amsterdam, Netherlands Monday, 25 October. There will be an additional five towns visited by the tour, including: Stockholm, Sweden Wednesday, 27 October; Helsinki, Finland Friday, 29 October; Reading, UK Monday, 1 November; Rome, Italy Wednesday, 3 November and Vienna, Austria Thursday, 4 November.

Rose noted that participants can expect to

“• Learn about Office 2010 key IT investments.

•Learn about fast and easy deployment and application compatibility strategies and tools for Windows 7.

•Learn about virtualization tools and techniques for Windows, Office and Internet Explorer.

•Gain a clear understanding of the tips and tricks you need now to jumpstart the successful deployment and management of your Windows desktop environment today.

•Meet and network with members of the Windows and Office US Product Teams, as well as local Microsoft Technology Evangelists for technical training, professional networking, and real world guidance.”
